365 Days of Becoming is a fictional memoir—rooted in my own life, with storylines that blend
truth and creative embellishment. Some moments are real, while others are heightened for
the page. Writing this book was an incredibly therapeutic process, allowing me to heal from
my own journey so far, rediscover who I am, and gain clarity on where I want to go. More
than anything, I wrote it as an act of self-liberation—to honor my growth, embrace my truth,
and hopefully inspire others to do the same.
Who is this book for?
My ideal reader is a woman in her 30s and beyond—someone who enjoys women’s fiction,
contemporary romance, and stories of self-discovery. While 365 Days of Becoming centers
on a later-in-life lesbian journey, its themes of healing, personal growth, and finding one’s true
self are universal. LGBTQ readers will see themselves reflected in Reilly’s experience, but
the story is broad enough to resonate with anyone who has ever felt lost, craved change, or
longed to step more fully into who they are.
What makes your book unique in its genre?
Unlike a stereotypical sapphic romance, 365 Days of Becoming dives deep into emotional
growth, vulnerability, and the complexities of self-exploration. It’s more than just a love story
(with self or otherwise)—it’s a journey of healing, identity, and learning to embrace life on
one’s own terms. At just 169 pages, it’s a compelling and fast-paced read—perfect for an
airplane ride—yet it lingers long after the final page.
Does your book align with any current social, cultural, or industry trends?
Yes, 365 Days of Becoming aligns with current social and cultural trends, particularly the
growing awareness of how societal pressures impact women’s confidence and sense of self.
Many women today struggle with people-pleasing tendencies, feeling the weight of external
expectations while trying to navigate their own desires and identity. Reilly’s journey reflects
this cultural shift—one where women are reclaiming their autonomy, setting boundaries, and
prioritizing their own growth and fulfillment. Her story resonates with anyone seeking to break free from old patterns and embrace a more authentic, self-empowered way of living.
If you had to describe your book in three words, which would you choose?
Raw, riveting, and relatable. This book doesn’t shy away from the messy, unfiltered reality of
personal evolution—it embraces it. Through Reilly’s journey, readers will see themselves
reflected in the struggles, the growth, and the moments of vulnerability that come with
choosing to step into one’s truth. It’s a story that will resonate with anyone who has ever
questioned their path, longed for change, or wondered what it truly means to become.
Backcover Synopsis
One year. No dating. Can she really do this?
For as long as she can remember, Reilly has been a people-pleaser. And
somewhere along the way, she lost herself. Now in her 30s, still learning to
embrace her later-in-life lesbian identity, she realizes she hasn’t been single
since high school. So she makes a bold choice: one year with no dating. No
distractions. Just her.
The goal? Self-discovery. To finally know herself. To become the woman she was
meant to be. But Reilly quickly learns that the path to personal growth is anything
but predictable.
As she juggles the demands of single motherhood, the relentless world of PR,
and the weight of old wounds and new connections, Reilly finds herself on a
collision course with the very things she’s been trying to outrun. With spirituality
at the core of her path, she challenges everything she thought she knew about
purpose, healing, and truth.
By the time the year is up, will Reilly emerge stronger and ready to open her
heart again? Or will she discover that the greatest love story is the one she
creates with herself?
